Barcelona IRONMAN — this one cost me a tooth and earned me the nickname ‘IronTooth’. 

This was before a race in Jersey (I think you get the picture).

As of writing this, I’m currently in Tarifa sitting in a camper van I’ve spent the past year building.

But It Wasn’t Always This Way — So Let’s Talk About Where I Was On The Day I Started

 

I was 40 years old and living in Jersey.

I weighed nearly 90 kgs (200lbs).

I had no healthy habits whatsoever.

I was working as a banker and dreaded every hour I spent in the office, draped over the desk like a hunchback. 

This was the period of my life when I felt unhealthy.

I’ll admit, I didn’t exactly look like the guy that went to the gym on an even semi-regular basis…

And that’s what really pulled me below the water. I looked around at gym regulars, fitness gurus, even coworkers who went on to complete races I never even knew existed…

But then I realized I needed a goal…

I wanted to feel good, look good, and challenge myself, but I never saw myself as the guy who sacrifices his free time, his social life, and his family for the gym.

I knew how unhappy I felt at that moment, and knew I didn’t WANT to feel like that anymore.

So what was the solution?

Well, there was only one way that made sense to me, but it felt backwards until I actually saw results…
